De Beers X Central Saint Martins
Raise With Us was a winning group proposal for a set design in collaboration with De Beers Group.
The diamond corporation held their annual conference 2019 at the Rosewood Hotel in Holborn. As designers we felt it was our role to create a narrative environment that centered around the environmental impact of diamond mining. The dynamic stage design physically and metaphorically evolved as the day progressed, taking the guests on an emotional journey that encouraged reflection on their role within the enterprise and how they can shape a better future for the industry.
Screen panels on either side of the stage rotate 180 degrees to reveal mirrors that reflect back on the audience during the final talk to symbolise a renewed sense of perspective. All materials sourced for the event were gifted to UAL students to be recycled and reused
